EXPERIENCE
After graduating from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, Jay Choate returned home to Cartersville, where he accepted a position as a law clerk to the Superior Court Judges of the Cherokee Judicial Circuit. The time that Jay spent assisting the judges with their legal research, case management, and drafting of judicial decisions was invaluable to his development as a trial attorney.

Upon completion of his one year appointment as a judicial law clerk, Jay joined Harry White as a litigation attorney, and together they formed the law firm of White and Choate. To date, Jay has been involved in over 1000 trials and hearings, and he has represented clients in criminal and civil cases in all courts in the State of Georgia, including the Superior Courts, the Court of Appeals of Georgia, the Supreme Court of Georgia and the United States Federal Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

As Jay’s reputation has grown, he has focused his practice in two primary areas: personal injury and workers’ compensation. Through his creative and aggressive strategies, Jay has obtained millions of dollars for his clients. He has represented injured workers in all types of workers’ compensation cases, ranging from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome to chemical inhalation injuries to traumatic brain injuries. He has also represented numerous victims of catastrophic automobile and motorcycle accidents.

Jay’s dedication to the Bartow County area does not end with his legal services to the community. He has served as a past president of the Bartow County Bar Association, he serves as Judge Pro-tem of the Cartersville Municipal Court, and he is active in his local church.
