Prior to beginning his legal career, John worked for the White House. While at the White House, John worked with President Clinton, Vice President Gore and various members of the President’s Cabinet. Thereafter, John attended Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida. During his time in Florida, John interned for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division. The time John spent assisting the judges with their legal research, case management and drafting of judicial decisions for the federal judiciary was invaluable to his development as an attorney. After graduating from Stetson University College of Law, John began his legal career with White, Choate & Watkins, LLC.
John leads the Estate Planning, Estate Administration, Estate & Trust Litigation, and Tax Planning & Controversies practice areas of the firm. John has developed a strong reputation in counseling individuals and fiduciaries in the trust and estate practice areas. In addition, John practices Real Estate Law and Banking Law. Moreover, John has been successful in his appellate practice representing clients before the Georgia Court of Appeals, including the case of Friedman v. Regions Bank, 288 Ga.App. 57 (2007).
John serves on the Board of Directors of the Etowah Foundation, Inc. In addition to the Etowah Foundation, John is actively involved in his local church, the Rotary Club of Etowah, Cartersville-Bartow County Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, the Fiduciary Section of the State Bar of Georgia, Real Property and Probate Section of the American Bar Association, Taxation Section of the American Bar Association, and other organizations in the local community. |
