W. Anthony was born in Atlanta, Georgia, July 13, 1952. He attended the University of Georgia at Athens and graduated with his B.A. in History in 1974. W. Anthony went on to University of Georgia at Athens and graduated with his J.D in 1977.

W. Anthony was admitted to Georgia in 1977. He was also ammeter to Tennessee, U.S. District Court, Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, Georgia Supreme Court, U.S. Supreme Court and Georgia Court of Appeals in 1994.

W. Anthony is a member of Cobb County Bar Association, State Bar of Georgia and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta
